Common Join Issues

Most participants can join a ReadySet experience in just a few steps. If problems occur, the issue is usually related to event codes, app setup, internet connectivity, or permissions. Here are some common fixes.

Invalid event code

If the event code does not work:

  • Check for typing mistakes
  • Confirm the organizer shared the correct code
  • Make sure the event has been published

Some preview or testing codes may expire after use.

App not installed

Participants must use the ReadySet app to join and play experiences.

The app should be downloaded and updated before gameplay begins.

Participants do not need to create an account to join.

GPS or permissions disabled

Some experiences require:

  • GPS/location access
  • Camera permissions
  • Media upload permissions

If gameplay is not progressing correctly:

  • Confirm permissions are enabled
  • Restart the app if needed

Weak internet connection

Gameplay features such as:

  • Leaderboard updates
  • Media uploads
  • Checkpoint validation

may work less reliably with poor internet connectivity.

Moving to an area with stronger reception may help.

Outdated app version

Using the latest version of the ReadySet app helps prevent:

  • Compatibility issues
  • Loading problems
  • Gameplay bugs

Check the app store for updates if issues continue.
