Preparing Participants for Gameplay

A little preparation before gameplay begins can significantly improve the participant experience. Helping players understand how ReadySet works reduces onboarding friction and creates smoother gameplay during the event.

Before the event starts

Before gameplay begins, organizers should:

  • Share the event code clearly
  • Ask participants to download the ReadySet App
  • Explain whether gameplay is single-player or multiplayer
  • Communicate start times and event duration

Recommended participant preparation

Participants should ideally:

  • Charge their devices
  • Update the ReadySet App
  • Enable GPS / location permissions if required
  • Bring mobile internet access if possible

This helps reduce delays and onboarding issues during gameplay.

Explaining gameplay

Before starting, it's helpful to explain:

  • How Checkpoints work
  • How Activities are completed
  • How points are earned
  • How leaderboard progression works

For multiplayer events, also explain:

  • Team setup
  • Collaboration expectations
  • Gameplay pacing
