How event areas work
When creating an experience in ReadySet Studio, organizers select a location directly on the map.
This can be:
- A park
- A campus
- A venue area
- A neighborhood
- A city center
- A festival area
ReadySet then generates playable checkpoint locations within the selected area.
Adjusting event size
Organizers can adjust:
- The size of the gameplay area
- The number of checkpoints
- The estimated playtime
Smaller areas with fewer checkpoints usually create:
- Faster gameplay
- Shorter experiences
- More competitive pacing
Larger areas often create:
- Longer exploration
- More movement
- Broader gameplay experiences
Choosing the right location
The best event areas are:
- Walkable
- Publicly accessible
- Easy to navigate
- Safe for participants
- Appropriate for the group size
Good gameplay areas often include:
- Landmarks
- Open public spaces
- Areas with visual variety
- Places that encourage exploration
Checkpoint generation
ReadySet automatically generates publicly accessible checkpoint locations within the selected area.
Organizers can:
- Shuffle checkpoint locations
- Move checkpoints manually
- Remove checkpoints
- Add additional checkpoints
This helps shape the pacing and flow of the experience.
